Abstract
Teachers are not workers, and the teaching community cannot be considered a part of the working class. The working class in the words of Marx and Engels is the special and essential product of capitalism, its own creation. The teachers belong to the strata of middle classes having their origin in the petty bourgeoisie and the pre - capitalist formations. However, there is a great similarity between the working - class movement and the movement of teachers worldwide.
