Abstract
The increasing use of MRI (Magnetic resonance imaging) for diagnostic purpose and implants for rehabilitation has necessitate to study the interactions between MRI and dental implants. These interactions could result in unwanted effects which can be heat generation, mechanical displacement and artifacts, which can be a potential source of damage to surrounding oral tissues. This literature review aims to collect and evaluate the present knowledge about the interactions between MRI and dental implant. Dental implants and MRI are most extensively used, most of the dental implants are made of Ti alloy therefore it is critical to know the safety of dental implants during MRI.
