Abstract
Photovoltaic solar energy is the energy generated by solar radiation into electricity. In Brazil, photovoltaic solar generation is regulated by the Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica (ANEEL), which requires the general conditions for distributed micro and mini -generation access. The aimof this work is to analyze the economic feasibility of implementing a photovoltaic system in a single-family home in Colatina (ES) and compare it with the regular electricity used. The dimensioningof the system was made based on the characteristics of the location, the consumer profile, and the performance of the system. Based on estimates and forecasts, three energy tariff readjustment scenarios were defined for the study. In scenario A with an annual readjustment of 3.75%, the Net Present Value (NPV) was R$ 50.303,55, the Internal Rate Return (IRR) was 19,36% with a compensated return of 6 years and 4 months; in scenario B with an annual adjustment of 5.61%, the NPV was R$ 67.444,68, the IRR was 21,25% with a compensated return of 6 years and 1 month; in scenario C with an annual adjustment of 10.00%, the NPV was R$ 132.936,82, the IRR was 25,67% with a compensated return of 5 years and 6 months. In all scenarios the NPV was positive, indicating that the savings generated exceeded the investment and the payback was satisfactory considering a 25-year project horizon.
