Abstract
In the article, a dynamic model of a vertical milling machine is proposed, in which the main attention is directed to the elastic-damping characteristics of universal vices with various design features of the clamping jaws. The impact of contact deformations in the joints with different numbers of moving elements in the jaws on the rigidity of the elastic system of the machine tool is considered. This will make it possible to perform mathematical modeling of the technological system of the machine in the future and to develop recommendations for increasing dynamic stability due to the improvement of vices for clamping parts of a complex shape and the search for new technical solutions.
