Abstract
This article examines the trends in the organization of the educational process as an element of an integral continuous educational system, based on the principles of formal and informal models. The purpose of the article is to substantiate the relevance of formal and informal education in the context of continuing education. The article presents the history of the formation and development of these approaches.
