Abstract
Weekly spelling tests have been the staple for intermediate learners throughout many years. Here a list of words should be memorized every week and then examined to verify either one is a good speller or not. However, this is not always very effective for learning spelling as we excepted. Since, studying a list of words out of any meaningful context has minimal effect in helping to develop students’ spelling proficiency; and worse, they keep students away from real writing experiences [4,5].
