Abstract
The study examined the organizational planning and revenue generation of public tertiary health institutions in Enugu state, Nigeria. The specific objectives were to; examine the relationship between leadership planning and grants; relationship between programs and fees and the relationship between budgets and surplus of public tertiary health institutions in Enugu state, Nigeria. The area of the study comprised of staff Enugu State University Teaching Hospital, Park Lane and staff of University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital Enugu (UNTH), Enugu. The study used the descriptive survey design approach. A total population of four thousand, one hundred and twenty-five (4,125), staff was used. The sample size of 351, using Cochrains statistic formula at 5 percent margin of error. 282 staff returned the questionnaire and accurately filled. Data was presented and analyzed by mean score and standard deviation using Sprint Likert Scale. The hypotheses were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient (r) statistics tool.
