Abstract
In this study, Pelophylax ridibundus tadpoles were grown at different stock density to determine the best growth performance. The tadpoles are grouped as A (0.5 tadpole /L), B (1 tadpole /L) and C (1.5 tadpole /L) according to their stock density. The performance trial was carried out with 180 tadpoles averaging initial weight of 0.013±0.01 and initial length of 7.54±0.06 during 60 days. Tadpoles were fed twice daily with feed containing 39 % crude protein. Water (20 liters) in 30 liter breeding containers was changed every 24 hours for oxygen requirement. A biweekly measurement was made to determine height, weight gain and survival rate. Inversely proportional effect of stock density on length and weight gain was observed. As a result of the study, the highest survival rate (90 %), the best growth rate such as length and weight gain were determined in the group A with the lowest stock density (0,5 tadpole / L) .
