Abstract

Each person wants a geography on which they can live independently. However, geography is always temporary unless it can be turned into a homeland. In order for the geography to become a homeland, the people living on it must struggle in every field. Of course, poets and writers are the people who awaken people in these periods and give them the excitement of national feelings. Poets are known for the content of the poems they wrote. In Turkish literature, some poets have been called "poet of the homeland" with the contents of the poems they wrote. In Anatolian Turkish literature, poets such as Nâmık Kemal, Mehmet Akif, Yahya Kemal, Ziya Gökalp, Mehmet Emin Yurdakul are referred to with the titles of national poet / homeland poet by bringing national thought to the fore. In Azerbaijani Turkish literature, many of the existing poets appear as national poets / homeland poets. The idea of keeping the homeland above everything, seen in Bahtiyar Vahapzade, Kerim Meşruteçi (Sönmez), Samet Vurgun, Mehmet Araz, Mehmet Aslan, Mehmet İsmail, Nebi Hezri and similar poets, rises like a monument in the imperialist world order. Kerim Meşruteçi (Sönmez) was born and grew up in Tabriz, and he considered the lands of Azerbaijan in the north, together with the lands he lived in, as his homeland. In his poems, he mainly focused on homeland, motherland, language, family, lineage and other national values. He sang his most enthusiastic lines for the protection and promotion of these values. Sönmez,“Poet of the land of fire”, has always kept the fire of the homeland he lit in his poems.
