Individual psychological factors of perception of traumaous events

Abstract
The article is devoted to the analysis of the problems of perception of traumatic events, personal response to traumatic situations, behavior to overcome their consequences. Factors that influence the perception of traumatic events include: external; social; individual and psychological factors that affect subjectivity when perceiving various events, determine the activity of behavior to overcome complex traumatic situations. The perception of traumatic events can have the following manifestations: the understanding of a traumatic event as capable of leading to the destruction of a person's established way of life; as critical and related to a particular period of life; as extreme, dangerous to the life and health of a person. The perception of traumatic events is influenced by such individual psychological factors as: emotional balance (stability), anxiety, the individual's ability to regulate emotional experiences, and the type of temperament that affects the emotional experience of a traumatic event and behavior to overcome it. In particular, individual and psychological factors that cause a negative perception of a traumatic event are: low emotional balance, instability; high neuroticism, irritation, tension; expressive manifestations of personal and situational anxiety; personal tendency to extremely emotional response to traumatic events. To overcome the consequences of a traumatic event, personal resources of stress resistance, vitality, ability to choose the most adequate behavior in a traumatic situation help. Three levels of people's experience and overcoming of crisis, traumatic events and situations are distinguished, among which only type. I does not need psychological help and is able to adequately perceive and overcome the consequences of traumatic situations.
