Abstract
The article describes the interaction of carbethoxyhydrazone of pinacolin with thionyl chloride. As a result, 4-tert-butyl-1,2,3-thiadiazole was obtained. A detailed procedure for the synthesis of the product is presented. The structure of the target product was proved spectrally. The qualitative and quantitative composition was confirmed by elemental microanalysis.
