Abstract
Introduction. The study of the influence of tourism and local history activity on the indicators of the psychophysiological state of secondary school children, who are engaged in an out-of-school educational institution of the appropriate profile in tourism and local history circles, is an urgent problem today in connection with the disappointing statistics regarding the deterioration of the health of modern teenagers. The means of active tourism and local history have a huge potential, which must be used in the physical education of secondary school children to strengthen their health and increase the level of physical and psychophysiological development. Purpose. The article aims to determine changes in the indicators of the psychophysiological state of secondary school children under the influence of tourism and local history activity in the conditions of an out-of- school institution of the appropriate profile. Methods. Analysis and generalization of data from scientific and methodical literature; pedagogical observations; pedagogical experiment; pedagogical testing; psychophysiological research methods (Landolt rings – determining the level of attention switching, tangled lines – determining the level of attention concentration, determining the level of attention span, determining the level of working memory, a table of numbers – determining the level of short-term visual memory, SAN technique – determining the level of the psycho-emotional state, the «Three» test – determination of the level of operational thinking, a test to determine the creativity of thinking, Koos cubes – determination of the level of constructive thinking); methods of mathematical statistics. Results. It has been proven that tourism and local history activity helps to increase the level of psychophysiological condition of students, who are engaged in extra-curricular education of the appropriate profile. Originality. The participation of secondary school children in tourism and local history activity has a positive effect on indicators of their psychophysiological state. Conclusion. In the course of the pedagogical experiment, the level of development of the psychophysiological qualities of students increased: a statistically significant improvement in the values of indicators of attention switching and short-term visual memory was recorded; a statistically significant improvement in the indicators of the level of development of thinking and creativity was determined. The positive dynamics of the formation of the motivational component regarding the participation of students in tourism and local history activity were revealed. An increase in the level of assimilation of knowledge and skills acquired by students in the process of tourism and local history activity based on the proposed program was revealed, while the coefficient of the strength of knowledge assimilation increased to a high level.
