Abstract
The lived experiences of Latino males working as faculty members in Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) have been rarely documented in academic journals. This article presents a first person account of a Latino male media professor and his reflections about being a minority faculty member in a minority university (HBCU) whose majority student population is composed of African-Americans students. A higher degree of respect and sense of community along with higher education appreciation from students of color indicate that the experiences of the Latino male media professor working in HBCUs was very positive.
