Abstract
An experimental study was conducted to effectiveness of pre operative teaching regarding leg exercises on early ambulation among post operative patients undergoing selected abdominal surgeries in the selected hospital, Gandhinagar. The general system model was used as conceptual framework. A quantitative approach with experimental study design was used to achieve the objectives of the study. The sample consisted of 30 from selected areas of Gandhinagar. The random sampling technique was used to collect the sample. In the experimental group the mean early ambulation was 6.533 with standard deviation 0.80 and in the control group was 4.866 with SD 0.718. The calculatedt value was 7.376 where as table value is 1.69 in 0.05 level which shows highly significant. So, the pre operative leg teaching was highly effective in early ambulation during the post operative phase.
