ARCHITECTURAL SPACE: TRACING AN EVOLUTION

To understand Architectural experience of a user, defining space becomes vital. Only when space and user have a dialogue between them does experience occur as an outcome. In order to understand this complex relation of user and space, one needs to first understand the two variables separately. This paper studies and explains the idea of space. Space here is defined and elaborated keeping study of Architectural experience in mind. Hence only those theories that seem relevant to this study are undertaken for cross comparison. The process of connecting various theories and deriving a definition is achieved through analytical diagrams. The paper concludes with an overarching idea of space definition which can be applied to the study of Architectural experience analysis.
