Abstract
The article’s primary objective is to compare the meanings of proverbs and sayings in English and Uzbek, related food. Comparative analysis is done on the semantic properties of the paremiological units in English and Uzbek with “food” components. Particularly in linguistics, there hasn't been much research done on the proverbs and sayings concerning “food” from different languages in terms of comparison and contrast, but this study will highlight similarities and differences between English and Uzbek proverbs that are both theoretically significant and practical in nature.
