Abstract
This paper explores the relationship between air pollution and life satisfaction in Turkey. Using cross sectional data, based on data from the TUIK Life Satisfaction Survey (196203 observations) -which provides location of the participants at the city level for the year of 2013- this study aims at investigating the role of objective air pollution on life satisfaction by taking into account individual, location and climate heterogeneity. After controlling personel characteristics, and local variables (climate variables and province dummies), according to ordinary least square regression analysis, a robust negative impact of air pollutions on life satisfaction is found.
