ANALYSIS OF PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS FOR THE EDUCATION OF PATRIOTISM IN PRESCHOOL CHILDREN IN UKRAINE IN THE PERIOD FROM 1930 TO 1941

Abstract

Introduction. The problem of fostering a sense of patriotism in preschool children in Ukraine has its history, the study of which will allow us to assert that the stereotypes of the past influence the solution to this problem. It is indisputable that at turning points in history, people's self-awareness sharpens, and interest in their origins, their roots, and their culture - everything that characterizes their identity ‒ grows. Purpose. Article aims to carry out an analysis of programs of education and upbringing of preschool children regarding the upbringing of patriotic feelings in the period from 1930 to 1941. Methods. A set of interrelated methods of scientific research was used: analysis, synthesis, specification, classification, comparison, and generalization of scientific sources on the topic of research. Results. The analysis of the programs and regulatory documents made it possible to determine that the main task that educators faced was the education of patriotic feelings in children, which would fully correspond to the ideals of communist morality defined by the party so that the young generation would be ready to take an active part in social life in the future. In the course of the theoretical research, the regulatory and legal support for fostering a sense of patriotism in preschool children in Ukraine in the period from 1930 to 1941 was summarized, consisting of the following acts of legislation: the resolution of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine (b) «Program for preschool institutions» (1932), the document «Program and methodical materials for preparatory (zero) groups of the polytechnic school» (1932), «Program and internal routine of the kindergarten» (1935), «Program and method instructions for the kindergarten teacher» (1938 ). Originality. The analysis of regulatory documents and programs on the education of preschool children with an emphasis on the education of patriotic feelings of preschool children was carried out. Conclusion. During the period under study, the foundation for the construction of scientifically based content of preschool education was laid, without which further successful development of the preschool education system and its content provision is impossible. It was at this time that the content and forms of organization of children's life in kindergartens in Ukraine were optimized.
