Abstract

As the world becomes increasingly reliant on energy, the demand for efficient and sustainable energy management systems has never been greater. In this regard, the development of a smart grid system for efficient energy management in residential buildings has become a top priority in recent years. The objective of this paper is to provide an overview of the development of such a system and its potential benefits. The smart grid system for efficient energy management in residential buildings involves the use of advanced technologies and control systems that enable homeowners to monitor and manage their energy consumption in real-time. This system includes sensors, smart meters, and other devices that provide data on energy usage, which is then transmitted to a central control system. This data can then be used to optimize energy consumption and reduce waste, resulting in lower energy bills and reduced carbon emissions. One of the primary benefits of the smart grid system is its ability to provide realtime data on energy consumption. This data can be used to identify areas of inefficiency and waste, allowing homeowners to make informed decisions about their energy usage. For example, the system can alert homeowners when they are using too much energy or when certain appliances are using more energy than necessary. This information can then be used to adjust energy usage and reduce waste, resulting in lower energy bills and a more sustainable lifestyle. Another benefit of the smart grid system is its ability to enable demand response programs. These programs allow utility companies to reduce the demand for energy during peak usage periods by incentivizing homeowners to reduce their energy usage during these times. For example, homeowners can receive discounts on their energy bills or other incentives for reducing their energy usage during peak periods. This not only reduces the strain on the energy grid during peak periods but also helps homeowners save money on their energy bills.
