Abstract
“A Road to the Big City” is one of Doris Lessing's classic short stories, which depicts three typical characters in society at that time. This article believes that the three characters correspond to the three levels of Freud's personality theory, and based on this, analyzes and explores the reasons behind the character's behavior.
