Abstract
Many computers vision and image processing tasks benefit from the use of image denoising. An effective image denoising model should smooth out the picture while simultaneously eliminating all visible noise. The use of a discrete wavelet transform (DWT) for picture denoising is one of the most promising and cutting-edge methods currently being researched in this field. In this work, filters and other wavelet-based approaches are compared and contrasted. In terms of PSNR, the simulation results favor the wavelet-based Bayes shrinking approach. We present a technique in this research that employs Median Filter and Soft Thresholding in conjunction with the wavelet transform on a noisy input picture.
