Abstract

This paper looks briefly at the configuration of spatio-temporality and subjectivity in James Joyce's short story ‘Araby' from the thematic perspective of courtly love and chivalric romance and through Mikhail Bakhtin's concept of the chronotope and elements of Heideggerian phenomenology and Lacanian psychoanalysis.
