Abstract

The need for secure data access has grown significantly with the rapid development of cloud computing and the widespread use of cloud services. Traditional authentication methods like tokens and passwords have shown to be vulnerable to a number of security flaws. In this situation, biometric-based authentication has shown promise as a way to improve data access security in cloud computing systems. The measurement and examination of an individual's distinctive physical or behavioural traits, such as fingerprints, iris patterns, voiceprints, and facial features, is known as biometrics. Since each person possesses these traits uniquely, biometric authentication is very trustworthy and challenging to fake or duplicate. Utilising biometric characteristics for secure data access in cloud computing has a number of benefits, such as improved accuracy, convenience, and defence against threats. This paper investigates the use of biometrics in cloud computing for safe data access. Also this paper presents a comprehensive framework for integrating biometric authentication into cloud computing environments. The proposed framework incorporates the necessary components, including biometric sensors, feature extraction algorithms, template matching techniques, and secure transmission protocols. We also discuss the role of machine learning and artificial intelligence in improving the accuracy and robustness of biometric authentication systems.
