Abstract
Red Mud is highly alkaline slurry produced during alumina extraction from bauxite. Which can cause significant environmental damage. Using red mud as a sustainable cementitious material in concrete is highly appreciable because concrete is a second largest using material after water. This review covers the utilization of red mud as replacement of cement and its effects on physical and mechanical properties of concrete. Many researchers has conducted various types of fresh and harden concrete test with different percentage of red mud replaced with cement which has given different test results. The comparative study shows the different percentage of red mud was used with the cement and made different grade of concrete. This study shall help suitability criteria for utilization of industrial wastes in construction industry.
