Abstract
The lamenting grasshopper Eyprepocnemis plorans plorans (Charpentier, 1825) is first reported from Bulgaria with at least four established locations in the Thracian lowland (Plovdiv city; between Katunitsa and Yagodovo village, on the territory of Yagodovo village and north of it), along the valleys of the rivers Maritsa and Chaya. A total of 13 adult specimens were observed and 6 of them were collected between October 2020 and November 2022. Brief discussion of the probable path of colonization was also presented.
