Abstract

Gender diversity in the workplace has gained significant attention due to its potential impact on firm performance. This research paper provides a broad inspection of the connection between “gender diversity” and “firm performance”, synthesizing findings from various studies across industries and countries. The research demonstrates that organizations with more prominent gender diversity tend to experience improved performance outcomes, including enhanced innovation, better decision-making, and increased financial returns. The influence of gender diversity is contingent upon contextual factors such as the firm's strategic methods and work culture. While a growth-oriented approach combined with gender diversity fosters diverse perspectives and expansion into new markets, firms with an adhocracy culture emphasizing competition may face challenges in creating a supportive environment. Also, the increased involvement of women in the corporate sector, both in the workforce and on the board, demonstrates a positive association with “firm performance”, especially in nations characterized by lower levels of female empowerment. The study emphasizes the importance of accounting for cultural and institutional factors when analyzing the link between “gender diversity” and “firm performance”. The researcher had considered people from different organizations to know the role of gender diversity in firm performance and found that gender diversity aligns with growth-oriented approach that promote teamwork and cohesiveness.
