Abstract

In today's competitive business environment, organizations recognize the importance of building high-performing teams. This qualitative research paper explores the process of creating and nurturing such teams. Trust plays a crucial role in team performance, as high levels of trust positively impact team effectiveness. Implementing comprehensive high-performance work practices (HPWPs) enhances organizational performance. Transformational leadership fosters common vision, “team commitment”, and a team environment that is empowered, leading to improved communication and cohesion. Overcoming obstacles and fostering a positive internal social structure mediate the relationship between HPWPs and performance. Effective information sharing within teams is vital for high performance, influencing outcomes such as performance, cohesion, decision satisfaction, and knowledge integration. Leadership method and team competence are vital in enhancing team performance. Trust in leaders and the dynamics of team interactions are key factors in fostering high-performing teams. Challenges include focusing on shared cognition, adapting to changing team dynamics, addressing multicultural influences, and advancing measurement techniques. This research provides valuable insights into the process of building high-performing teams, emphasizing the significance of trust, leadership, shared cognition, and organizational dynamics in achieving exceptional performance.
