Abstract

Cohabitation with the schizophrenic patient isoftenfelt by the family as a burden. This burdenis not easy to manage, especiallysincethisis a chronicillness. This charge, whichismaterial and above all moral, provokesreactions in familymembers. The reactionsdifferaccording to the patients situation, hisdisturbedbehavior, the familys situation and the lattersability to manage thisburden. Throughthisclinical case, wewill show how well-beingwithin the familyplays a role in the mental health of our patient whois 57 yearsold, and her duration of remissiondoes not exceed one yearwithoutshe has another relapse.Whatwecanseethat the family of our patient ischaracterized by verystrongemotionalemotions, mostmembers of the family show hostility and aggressiontowardsher. The patient feltunwanted and unloved, sheevenrevealedduring an interview thatshefeels more comfortable in the hospitalratherthanat home, shealways has the impression thatherfamilyrejectsher, itistruethataccording to hisclinicalpicture, the feeling of persecutionispredominant. Thus, in the course of ourwork, wewereled to closely monitor the relationshipbetween the family and the patients condition through the parental imagos, whichcomesfrom the factthatweconsiderthat, when the familyischaracterized by hyper protection and / or a dominance expressedwith regard to the patient, the latter becomes more stressed due, in particular, to the increase in pressure whichweighs on him. There followsanoticeablereduction in the improvementprocesswhich leads him to relapse regularlycompared to a patient wholives in a familywhichischaracterized by balancedemotions and behaviorstowards the patient.
