Introduction. The humanisation of education involves creating conditions aimed at revealing and developing human abilities and positive self-realisation, based on respect for the person, determining the goals, content, organisation and means of their life, as well as the nature of interaction with the environment. The process of forming a teacher's tolerance includes the following stages: a) pre-professional (the period before entering a higher education institution) – forming the foundations of tolerance in the family and school (in the process of study and extracurricular activities); b) educational (the period of studying at a higher education institution) – mastering the basics of tolerance during classes (in psychological and pedagogical, special (professional) and humanitarian and socio-economic disciplines), pedagogical practice, interaction with colleagues and mentors during independent and extracurricular work, participation in the activities of public organisations; c) professional (postgraduate) – improving tolerance in the process of adaptation to various types of activities, etc. Originality. The novelty of the work is to substantiate the role of tolerance as a professionally important quality of a future vocational teacher and the importance of its formation during vocational training. Conclusion. Tolerance is a necessary professional quality of a future vocational teacher. The successful formation of future teachers' tolerance can be achieved if the following conditions are provided in the educational process: organisation of a tolerant educational environment; purposeful work with teachers on tolerant attitudes towards students; strengthening the tolerant component of the content and process of studying the discipline of the psychological and pedagogical cycle; organisation of training on tolerant behaviour of students.
