Statistical analysis of the production process of colored pencils in relation to the assessment of the moisture level of wood

Abstract
The article analyzes the process of making colored pencils. 4 main stages have been identified, within which the slates, the case are made, the pencil is connected to the case and the pencil is colored. It was revealed that there is a "weak spot" in the form of defects due to non-compliance with the moisture level of wood at the stage of manufacturing the case. A statistical analysis of the production of colored pencils was carried out on the basis of the collected data – indicators of the moisture level of wood. Control maps of mean values and spans (X̅–R maps) and mean values and standard deviations (X̅–s maps) were constructed and evaluated. The data indicated on the maps are analyzed, as well as an analysis for the presence of a series of points located in a special way on the maps. The analysis confirmed the stability of the process. The analysis of the possibilities of the process is carried out by evaluating the reproducibility indices. This analysis showed the unsatisfactoriness of the process and the need to take measures to correct it.
