Abstract
This article provides information about Cognitive Linguistics as a field that combines philosophy, neuroscience, and computer science to study language. Different scholars point that language is not an autonomous cognitive faculty, grammar is conceptualization, and knowledge emerges from language use. They also mention about key principles including minimal assumption, usage-based, and meaning as being central. Cognitive linguists believe that human categorization is fundamental to language structure and its reflection of reality. It also studies how mental processes shape language use, to understand our thoughts, communication, and perception of the world better.
