In the scientific article, the author provides an analysis of the problems of qualifying thefts and ways to solve them. In modern Russia, there is a serious problem in the fight against crime, which is confirmed by the statistics of committed mercenary crimes, a significant proportion of which are thefts of other people's property. Such statistics indicate the presence of increased social danger for citizens, since it is property relations that contribute to ensuring the successful functioning of the economy in the state.
