Abstract

Despite the state of war in Ukraine, people continue to divorce. Even in such challenging conditions, the state must still ensure citizens' right to conclude acts of civil status, including divorce. It is noteworthy that over the years of full-scale invasion, certain nuances have emerged in the divorce process. These cases can be valuable for foreign scholars studying divorce in countries with a similar political situation. Therefore, a crucial aspect of this research is the analysis of possible issues arising during divorce in a state of war. Even in times of war, the state continues to provide citizens, as well as foreigners, with the right to divorce both through legal proceedings and in civil registration authorities. It is worth noting that the institution of civil registration consistently functions and improves, despite the ongoing state of war in the country. The individual remains the highest social value in Ukraine, and the state is the guarantor of this.
