Abstract

Environmental Sociology deals with the interactions between societies and their environments. It focuses on the social dimensions of either the natural environment or the human built environment with the aim to investigate the human, economic, and political causes of climate change, as well as the effects climate change has on many aspects of social life, like behavior, culture, values, and the economic health of populations experiencing its effects. The environmental problems caused by social factors which negatively impacts the society need all efforts to solve, and as well as the consideration for environmental ethics, which will border on moral and ethical relationship of human beings to the environment. This paper provides an introduction on environmental sociology, and discusses its impact on humanity and solutions. Paul A. Adekunte | Matthew N. O. Sadiku | Sarhan M.
