TRENDS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF IT-OUTSOURCING IN UKRAINE

Abstract

The article is intended to provide an overview of IT outsourcing trends in Ukraine and further development pros‑ pects. The economic essence of foreign economic activity of IT outsourcing, outsourcing opportunities for developing countries are considered. The leadership of Ukraine in the field of IT outsourcing is emphasized. Six groups of future trends in outsourcing development are analyzed, identified and characterized: first, further shortage and need for advanced IT skills; second, development of alternative areas; third, focus on cybersecurity and compliance; fourth, growth of augmented (virtual) reality projects; fifth, automation with the help of artificial intelligence; sixth, changing the nature of partnership. The article analyzes the forecast of IT spending in the world and predicts an acute shortage of skilled labor in IT. It is empha‑ sized that the demand for technology talent far exceeds the supply, and this will continue at least until 2026, based on projected IT spending. It is emphasized that future outsourcing trends include a strong emphasis on data security. It is concluded that sig‑ nificant investments will be made in two areas: robotic automation and artificial intelligence. A growing demand for professional data scientists, big data analysts, and artificial intelligence experts is predicted. The factors of IT outsourcing development in Cen‑ tral and Eastern Europe are identified: comprehensive state support for IT companies; sufficient number of qualified specialists; a wide range of technologies; flexible models of cooperation. The number of IT companies in Eastern Europe in 2022 is illustrated. The article outlines the prospects of IT outsourcing and the main directions of further development of Ukraine: reduction of internal and external domestic unemployment; growth of the national economy due to the development of IT outsourcing; re‑ duction of costs in the economic activities of enterprises; improvement of the organization of business processes of enterprises, etc. The author draws conclusions regarding the future development of the IT outsourcing sphere, which will contribute to the development of Ukraine's foreign economic activity.
