Abstract
In this article, wind characteristics and wind energy potential of a site in the southern part of Albania were analyzed utilizing the 10min wind speed data collected from 2 towers during the period March 2013- June 2014. Wind speed distribution and statistical analyses were conducted using two-parameter Wei bull probability density functions. Good agreement was found by comparing the measured data and Wind Atlas data. The annual mean wind speed was 5.64 m/s. The results derived from this work indicate that the selected site is suitable for developing a small scale wind farm.
