Abstract
The study compares between OSPF and EIGRP based on the route table size and dropped traffic, using two different Topologies (Star, Loop) with each of them, using Opnet simulator. The results indicate that, regardless of the network's form, EIGRP has a larger route table size than OSPF. The location of the routers affects the size of the route table. The core router's route tale size ordering differs from distribution routers and from access routers. Even though they were using different topologies, the dropped traffic in EIGRP was greater than that of OSPF.
