Abstract
The article examines the role of professional self-determination of students in the process of studying under secondary vocational education programs. The influence of self-determination on the formation of professional skills, competencies and motivation of students is discussed. The influence of professional self-determination on the career choice of students after graduation from the educational program is also considered.
