Abstract
The relevance of the study is determined by the fact that multilingualism is firmly gaining ground, becoming essential for adaptation of an individual to the challenges of time in the modern BANI-world (brittle, anxious, non-linear, and incomprehensible). In the 21st century educational organizations at various levels are faced with the need to make changes in the educational process related to the internationalisation of education in Russia. As a response to the challenges of the time multilingual educational complexes, one of which is located in Yelabuga, were opened, along with the requalification of teachers in the field of innovative pedagogical technologies in multilingual ed-ucation. The purpose of the article is to consider the potential of multilingual Olympiads as a tool of monitoring the quality of language education in such multi-ethnic regions as Tatarstan and Udmur-tia. Based on observation methods and statistical analysis, certain common mistakes that students make when completing assignments in Russian, Tatar and English, have been identified. The article presents the results of the 2019 “Young Polyglot” Olympiad, held in Yelabuga as a part of the network cooperation of international laboratories at the head center in the Yelabuga In-stitute of KFU. The conclusions of the study affirm the necessity of supporting nationality lan-guages at the governmental level, since balanced natural bilingualism serves as the basis for the suc-cessful acquisition of other languages.
