Abstract
A screen-house study was undertaken for evaluating 100 genotypes of cowpea besides check against root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita race-1. Out of all the genotypes screened, only three genotypes showed resistant reaction to the test nematode viz., GAU-1, EC-244372 and VKP-605. Twenty six genotypes viz., C-731/01, C-791, EC-109793/03-25, DCP-7, V-585, DCS-6, V- 240, CALC-21, GC-9040 CPD-45, DCP-5, C-1161, C-1163, DCP-11, HC03-4, EC-24431, C-1255, C-1259, C-1291, C-1352, EC-244137, IC-20683/P3, EC-244241, EC-244385, EC-240992 and IC- 20504-2 showed moderately resistant reaction, while eighteen genotypes showed highly susceptible reaction and fifty three genotypes as susceptible besides check. All the three resistant genotypes could be incorporated in the breeding programme for further studies.
