Abstract
This article aims to analyze the value of the internet as a source of knowledge and information in the so-called “information age” and evaluate the advantages and disadvantages, reliability and limitations of internet knowledge from a critical point of view. In recent years, relations between knowledge, hegemony and power have been the main issues in social sciences. Today, it is important to examine the hegemonic relations between the internet and information which is spread through the internet on “global network society.” In this respect, the main contradiction which has to be analyzed is the disinforming nature of the internet knowledge in the “information age.” Another problem which is related to this is the pollution of knowledge arising from the information overload through the internet.
