Abstract
This article discusses a review of gun legislation in the Russian Federation and the United States. The purpose of the scientific article is to study and compare the basic principles and norms governing the circulation of weapons in both countries, as well as to analyze the differences in legislative approaches to the possession, carrying and use of weapons. The authors use a comparative and formal-legal method of research, allowing to study the normative legal acts regulating the circulation of weapons in both countries and analyze the legal consequences in the Russian Federation and the United States. The result of the scientific work is a detailed description of the differences in the legislative framework of both countries. Also, the authors conclude that the Gun Laws in the Russian Federation and the United States differ significantly, because in the Russian Federation there are stricter restrictions on the possession and use of weapons, while in the United States the right to own weapons is a constitutional right.
