The God of Process – the Interconnectedness of the World The Process Theology as A Frame for a Glocal Spirituality
Journal: Jurnal Ledalero (Vol.23, No. 1)Publication Date: 2024-06-30
Abstract
Globalization can be understood and experienced as homogenization of world cultures. However, globalization can also be perceived and lived as an opportunity given to the local cultures to express themselves at the global stage. The local cultures are enriched by the encounter with the other cultural traditions, while the global reality becomes more plural because of the contribution of different local cultures. This is what is meant by glocal, an interaction between the global and local contexts. To promote and live out such an interaction, a certain kind of spirituality is needed. The article suggests using process theology inspired by process philosophy of Alfred North Whitehead as the frame for developing such a spirituality.
