Abstract
This paper seeks to understand the concept of Julia Kristeva's Abject Theory and Sigmund Freud's ‘The Uncanny' through a short fictional work of speculative fiction titled ‘The Head' by Bora Chung. The uncanny and the Abject have been used multiple times in combination to analyze literary works, however, the relationship between these two has not been properly defined. In this work, I attempt to discern this relationship through the primary text and understand the position of the subject, the object and the Abject.
