Abstract
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, social opposition in the world and in Turkey has shown an over-all view of mess in a moral and organizational sense. Neo-liberal forces succeeded in canalizing the social opposition to a harmless, in regime opposition. The new social movements are much more susceptible to the problems about individual identity and belonging. Ecological exploitation, local-urban problems, micro problems related to Daily life practices and the identity problems resulted from cultural conflicts that affect the individual in a more indirect and negative way are the existance/activity areas of the new social movements. In this article the new social movements are discussed in the context of their dilemmas, the partialization of their demands and their heterogeneity.
