Assessing the Level of Environmental Facilitations in Public Buildings and Facilities and their Relationship to the Quality of Life for People with Disabilities in the State of Kuwait

Abstract

The study aims to find out how good the environmental features are in public buildings and how these features affect the quality of life for people with disabilities in Kuwait. To achieve the goal of the study, the researcher used the method of descriptive correlational approach. So, the researcher created two surveys based on earlier research. The survey about the state of environmental facilities included (99) questions divided into (11) sections, while the survey about quality of life included (66) questions divided into (6) sections. So, the researcher picked (284) people with disabilities at random. The two study tools were used after after verifying their validity and reliability. After looking at the data, the study found that public buildings and facilities had a low level of environmental features. The results show important differences in how people rated the environmental facilities based on their type of disability, with a significance level of (α=0.05). It also shows a strong and important relationship between the quality of environmental facilities and the quality of life in all areas, with a significance level of (α=0.05).
