Abstract
The effect of the antibiotic ceftriaxone on reproductive ability, viability, as well as inheritance of morphological characteristics in flies of the first generation was studied. During the study of the biological activity of ceftriaxone in relation to three laboratory lines, it was found that in the studied dosage it exhibits biological activity in relation to all Drosophila melanogaster lines used in the work. In terms of viability, the bw line showed the greatest sensitivity to the antibiotic. The reproductive ability of drosophila was more affected by ceftriaxone in the mutant bw and e lines. During the experiment, the inheritance of morphological characteristics of flies of the first generation was also studied and a significant number of individuals with altered morphology under the action of ceftriaxone were noted.
