Corporate Governance Practices and Financial Performance of Listed Consumer Goods of Manufacturing Firms in Nigeria

This research investigated the relationship between structures of corporate governance performance of listed manufacturing firms in Nigeria, the study adopts correlational survey research design. The correlational survey design is adopted because the intent is to Determine the relationship between corporate governance mechanism and financial performance. The study uses secondary data collected from documentary review in which financial statements and reports were examined. The data needed for this study was sourced from the Nigerian Stock Exchange, financial publications of the selected listed companies. From the findings of the study, in order to improve the operations of organizations, and by extension facilitate economic growth and development, the following recommendations are made There is the need for strict compliance to all corporate governance code issued by the regulatory authorities such as the Central Bank of Nigeria, Securities and Exchange Commission, Corporate Affairs Commission and the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria FRCN , by ensuring that monthly or quarterly corporate governance compliance notifications are received from companies.
