Abstract
Varietal resistance trial was conducted at Agricultural Research Farm, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi during summer season of 2009-10, for screening some genotypes of Rajmash, against Aphid, Leaf miner and Pod borer. The experiment showed that Aphid incidence was significant. The lowest aphid incidence was in genotype 229 (2.88 aphid/plant) while, highest in HUR-202 (5.01 aphid/plant) on the basis of average aphid population of three observations. The leaf damage per cent ranged between 29.10 to 63.5 per cent being significantly lowest and highest with genotype 336 and PDR 14, respectively. Per cent pod damage and seed damage also varied significantly. The genotypes 228(6.0%), PDR 14 (6.0%) and HUR 146 (5.33%) proved to be highly susceptible to Pod borer. Least susceptible genotype was 405 (1.0%), followed by 214 (2.0%). The significantly highest yield was apparent with genotype 180 (19.53 q/ha) and lowest in HUR-15 (12.0 q/ha).
