TECHNOLOGICAL SPECIFICS OF THE DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE TOUR

Abstract

Introduction. The global travel market now offers such a wide range of holiday destinations that it is no longer enough for a tour operator just to launch a new high-quality tour at an affordable price to create and sell a tourist product. In such circumstances, the formation of a tourism product and its entry into the market must be carefully planned and organised. The relevance of the chosen research topic is stipulated by the fact that in today's realities of the tourism business, an important role is played by consumer interest in the tourism product, which determines the necessity of forming new service packages. Given the current conditions and instability of the market economy, the importance of developing and selling new tourism products is growing significantly and requires innovative competitive solutions. Taking into account the aforementioned aspects of tourism development, there is a necessity to study more specifically the issue of technological features of developing a new tour and its implementation. The purpose of the article is to analyse the technological aspects of developing a tour as a tourist product and the principles of its implementation. Materials and methods. During the investigation of the issue of analysing the technological aspects of developing a tour as a tourist product and the principles of its implementation, the following methods were used: method of theoretical generalisation with elements of analysis — in order to define the essence of the concept of “tourist product”; method of synthesis and systematisation — in order to identify and characterise the stages of the process of developing a tourist product; method of data display — in order to demonstrate the results of the study; method of logical generalisation and systematic approach — in order to form conclusions and determine the directions of further research. Results and Discussion. The article analyses technological aspects of development of a tour as a tourist product and principles of its realisation. On the basis of the study, the essence of the concepts of “tourist product” and “tour” has been defined. The components of the tourism product have been defined. It is noted that the main component of a tourism product is a tour. The stages of the tour development and implementation process are outlined and characterised. It is determined that the components of the tour are the itinerary, programme and a range of services for the life support of tourists. The technological peculiarities of the process of development and implementation of the tour have been considered. It is summarised that the preparation for market sales is the most important and crucial stage in the life cycle of a tourism product or service, since at this precise moment the usual tourist service acquires such consumer qualities that can satisfy the needs of the client. Therefore, the formation of a tour as a tourist product and its implementation shall be approached in a prudent and responsible manner.
